      September To Remember

  • September is a great month to apply potassium to your lawn for healthy roots the following spring.
  • If you are growing veggies for the fall you need to sow your seeds now!
  • This is the month to purchase your spring flowering bulbs.
  • Fall plant pruning should be on your agenda for September.
  • A lawn pre-emergent herbicide should also be applied. Barricade herbicide is a very effective product for this application.
  • Fall mums can be purchased and planted now. They really respond to liquid applications of fertilizer.
  • Let's not forget to give our evergreen shrubs a little food as well.
  • Make sure you spray your plants for little critters that may be making their home there.
  • Of course, even though the weather may be getting cooler we still need to continue watering the lawn.
  • These are just a few of my favorite things. I'm sure that with a little effort you will come up with a lot more wonderful things to do as well. Remember!
  • The sweat equity you put in now will pay off handsomely in the spring.
