September is a great month to apply potassium to your lawn for healthy roots the following spring.

If you are growing veggies for the fall you need to sow your seeds now!

This is the month to purchase your spring flowering bulbs.

Fall plant pruning should be on your agenda for September.

A lawn pre-emergent herbicide should also be applied. Barricade herbicide is a very effective product for this application.

Fall mums can be purchased and planted now. They really respond to liquid applications of fertilizer.

Let’s not forget to give our evergreen shrubs a little food as well.

Make sure you spray your plants for little critters that may be making their home there.

Of course, even though the weather may be getting cooler we still need to continue watering the lawn.

These are just a few of my favorite things. I’m sure that with a little effort you will come up with a lot more wonderful things to do as well. Remember!

The sweat equity you put in now will pay off handsomely in the spring.
