  • Apply fertilizer to your lawn now if you have not already done so.  Remember to raise the mowing height on your mower as the temperatures increase so you do not burn the roots of your grass.

  • By now you should have already finished pruning your spring flowering trees, if not, you may want to wait till next season to do so.

  • Fertilize lightly your shrubbery even if you have already done so in the early spring. A good well-balanced fertilizer should be used. For you folks that like liquid food that will be fine as well.

  • Remember to keep adequate mulch around the base of all flowers and trees. I recommend at least 3 inches in depth. This will help keep the root zone cool and hydrated.

  • Don’t forget to deadhead your flowering plants as the blooms are spent. This will keep those darlings blooming up a storm.

  • Lets not forget that veggie garden. Keep spraying, pruning, and fertilizing to ensure a bountiful harvest.

  • These are just a few of my favorite things. Until next month, happy gardening.
